Shatta Wale is set to headline the Hogbetsotso Sunday Beach Concert at Eli Beach Resort and Hotel in Tegbi on Sunday, 8 November, as the Anlo festival weekend doubles as a major dancehall showcase in the Volta Region. The booking was confirmed in a report by the Ghana News Agency, which places the African Dancehall King’s set a day after Stonebwoy and MzVee perform at Lalana Beach in Anloga.
According to GNA, Stonebwoy’s Lalana Beach show is billed for Saturday, 7 November, while Shatta Wale takes the Eli Beach stage on Sunday night. Earlier coverage by The Vaultz News had already flagged the 8 November Hogbe Beach Concert at Eli Beach Resort in Tegbi as part of the 64th Hogbetsotso celebrations, whose theme this year is “Anlo, Our Heritage and Our Values: Striving to Build One Ghana for a Better Tomorrow.”
Hogbetsotso, the annual festival of the Anlo people centred on Anloga, draws chiefs, diaspora visitors and tourists to the Volta Region each November. Entertainment has become a bigger draw in recent editions, and putting Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy on consecutive festival nights raises the stakes for fans travelling to the coast this weekend.
GNA also reports that EdemFest, which had been scheduled for 7 November at Emancipation Beach, has been postponed by organisers Volta Regime Music Group, who say a strategic opportunity emerged and a new date will be announced later. The Jubilee Radio Health Walk linked to that programme is still expected to go ahead.
Other festival-week activities listed by GNA include the Xetoto Arts Festival, the Tsadidi Street Art Festival at Fort Prinzenstein in Keta, the Keta To The World Concert, the Mama Hogbe Beauty Pageant and a Brotherhood of Anlo volleyball competition running from 5 to 8 November.
