Sarkodie says he will spend next week travelling across Africa, but not to perform. The rapper announced on Saturday that he will visit Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Nigeria from Monday, 2 November.
He shared the plan in a post on X, saying it was something he had told his team he wanted to do once the Kumasi edition of his Rapperholic concert was over.
“I told my team I wanna visit some African countries after Kumasi not to perform but just visit and I’m doing that from Monday … Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Nigeria,” he wrote.
The post had been viewed more than 140,000 times by Saturday afternoon, and many fans replied with suggestions for other countries he should add to the trip. Sarkodie did not say which cities he will visit, how long he will stay in each country, or whether there will be any public appearances along the way.
The trip follows a busy October for the rapper. Rapperholic Kumasi ’26 took place on Saturday, 24 October, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where he says more than 55,000 fans turned up. Two days later, Sarkodie posted a thank-you message on X to the media houses that helped promote the show.
He has also been releasing music from his upcoming DeJaVu EP. The first single, “Deja Vu” featuring KiDi, came out in mid-October, and the second, “Cold” featuring OliveTheBoy, was released on Friday, 30 October.
Nigeria is a familiar destination for Sarkodie, who has worked with many of the country’s biggest acts. Fans in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania will now be watching his pages for updates once the trip begins.
