Wendy Shay has demanded a refund from Nigerian airline Air Peace, saying her team paid for six tickets to Nigeria in January but never received a booking confirmation. The singer aired the complaint in a post on X on Monday, 2 November, and warned that she would take the matter to the authorities if the money is not returned.
According to the singer, the tickets were bought on the airline’s website. With no confirmation and a show to get to, her team booked another flight instead. “We have been chasing a refund ever since and every effort by my team to reach you has failed,” she wrote, tagging the airline’s official account.
Wendy Shay also questioned how the airline handles customers in Ghana. “How can an airline operate here without a costumer service center?” she asked, adding that whenever her team tried to reach out, they were told to send an email to Nigeria, which she said was never answered. “This is unacceptable. Refund us ASAP or we escalate this matter to the authorities,” she wrote.
Air Peace replied a little over an hour later. In a response on X, the airline said it appreciated her bringing the issue to its attention and asked her to check her direct messages, where it said it had sent a message to assist.
The exchange did not end there. Wendy Shay replied that there was nothing in her DMs and asked the airline to contact her management directly. “Y’all are taking your customers for granted,” she added. Air Peace then asked her to check her message requests, and the singer answered that there was still nothing in her DMs, asking the airline to call or WhatsApp her management. Later on Monday evening, Air Peace shared what it described as evidence of its message, including the time it was sent, and asked her to confirm again whether she had received it so it could investigate and resolve the complaint.
Neither side has said publicly how much the six tickets cost, and as of Tuesday morning there was no public word that the refund had been settled.
The complaint was also reported by Graphic Showbiz and GhanaWeb. The singer’s original post had drawn more than 50,000 views on X by Tuesday morning.
