Majid Michel and Adjetey Anang’s new film, No Man of God, will premiere at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra on 13, 14 and 15 November, with screenings at 6pm and 8pm each night, according to the film’s official website.
Produced by Kornerstonez Productions and directed by Ampong Kwaku Kwakye, the action drama stars Majid Michel as Michael, a former special forces soldier who has become a pastor. His past catches up with him when former comrades track him down for the coordinates of hidden minerals and use a family in his church as bait. Adjetey Anang plays Sam, the film’s antagonist.
The cast also includes Bambam Olawunmi, James Gardiner, Nikki Samonas, Maame Serwaa, Gadede Segbefia, Prempeh Yeboah-Afari, Peter Ritchie, Nana Gyasi Owusu and Akofa Edjeani. GhanaWeb reports that Ivorian actress Marie Pauleadje is also part of the project, and that lead actors including Majid Michel, Adjetey Anang, Nikki Samonas and James Gardiner shared a video on 27 October inviting Ghanaians to the premiere.
Regular tickets cost GH₵120 and are available on cinematrain.com or by dialling *713*9000#, according to the official poster.
Majid has been promoting the film on radio this week. Speaking on YFM’s ShoutsOnY with AJ Da Hottest, he said reuniting with Adjetey Anang and the strength of the story were what drew him to the project, as reported by YFM Ghana. The station marked his studio visit in a post on X on Friday.
Before the film’s release, the No Man of God project was staged as a show blending live music, theatre and stagecraft at the UPSA Auditorium and the National Theatre, GhanaWeb reports.
The premiere comes as Majid Michel speaks out about the state of Ghanaian cinema. On the same YFM show, he argued that comparing Ghana’s film industry with Nigeria’s makes little sense and said the bigger challenge facing local filmmakers is the shortage of cinemas to show their work.
No Man of God is billed on its website as an action thriller and faith drama, with the tagline “A Man Provides.” It follows Kornerstonez Productions’ maiden feature, The Groomsmen, which the company says is available on Amazon Prime Video and Tubi.
