Black Sherif, KiDi and Lasmid are flying Ghana’s flag on Apple Music’s year-end editorial playlists. Black Sherif’s “PopStar”, KiDi and Lasmid’s duet “Signature”, and D Global and Lasmid’s “Darkest Style” all feature on Afrobeats Hits: Best of 2026, the 50-song list curated by the Apple Music Afrobeats team.
The three songs sit side by side in the playlist’s running order, at positions 39, 40 and 41, in a list otherwise dominated by Nigerian acts. Victony’s “SLICK” opens the selection, followed by Wizkid and Asake’s “Jogodo”. Because it is an editors’ playlist rather than a chart, the order is a running order, not a ranking.
“PopStar” and “Signature” also appear on Apple Music’s separate Africa Now: Best of 2026 list, making Black Sherif, KiDi and Lasmid the Ghanaian acts on both of those year-end selections. “PopStar” was released on 27 March as a single through Blacko Management and EMPIRE, according to its Apple Music listing.
Ghanaian talent shows up elsewhere in Apple’s Best of 2026 series too. King Promise features on “CASAMIZZY” with NSG and Mavo, while producer Juls appears on “RARRI” alongside Projexx and Valiant, both on Africa to the World: Best of 2026. That list also includes two songs featuring Ghanaian-American singer MOLIY: “PARTYGYAL” with bees & honey, and “Nice n’ Sweet” with Ciara and Oxlade.
On the 100-song Africa Rising: Best of 2026 playlist, which spotlights emerging acts, Essumann’s “Big Bricks II” featuring Medikal and Lalid makes the cut, as does Anabel Rose’s “How I Want It Too” with Xenia Manasseh. Essumann was recently named Apple Music’s Up Next artist in Ghana.
The lists land as Apple Music rolls out its Best of 2026 coverage this week, with Wizkid and Asake among the African stars drawing the biggest headlines. For Ghana, the selections are a reminder that its biggest names are travelling well beyond home, even on playlists shaped largely by Lagos.
