Sarkodie featured in the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher

Sarkodie Ghanaian rapper Michael Owusu Addo better known as Sarkodie has featured in the 2012 edition of the acclaimed BET Awards Cypher.

Sarkodie’s is profiled alongside 42 US based rappers including top gun MCs like Snoop Dogg (Lion), DMX, T.I, and Talib Kweli. Others include Eve, Xzibit, E40 and Wu-tang veteran RZA. Sarkodie is the only African act that makes the list.

The cypher was aired at the BET Hiphop Awards show which took place on Saturday night September 29, 2012 in Atlanta. Sarkodie featured in the cypher hosted by DJ Premiere.

In 2010, Sarkodie featured in the international version of the Cypher along with D-Black, Kwaku-T, Ayigbe Edem, BabyG, Tinny and Reggie Rockstone.

In 2011, the BET Cypher hosted its international version in Nigeria featuring the likes of Modenine, M.I, Naeto C, Ice Prince, Sauce Kid (Sinzu), X.O Senavoe, Sasha, Eva, Muna, Blaise and Zee.

In July 2012, Sarkodie was named the ‘Best African Act’, an award he shared with Nigerian pop singer Wizkid.

Sarkodie is signed to the African subsidiary of Akon’s Konvict Music music label.
