George Pokoo known by his stage name as Styles Major was born on 27th June 1991. He attended Pope John Senior High School and currently studying Psychology at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The rapper, whose love for music started at the early age, soaked a lot of Hip-Hop growing from Tupac, Nas and Jay Z. He rapped along to their songs and started writing his own lyrics.
Like many artistes, it was the wish of rapper to break through the Ghanaian music industry and stay dominant especially with a genre that is now taking grounds in Ghana.
Fresh on the scene, Styles Major debut hit single ‘Where The Cash At’ which features some of GH’s finest Hip-Hop acts, C-Real, Stargo, Gemini and Slimbo received massive airplay.
Taking inspiration from everything around him Styles is not only looking at Hip-Hop but to be diverse and versatile to fit all genres.
Now with the release of his second hit single, ‘Give It To Me’ features Chymny Crane. The song which is produced by Slimbo use thumping beats to deliver an exciting feeling, which is gradually hitting the clubs and radio stations across the capital and beyond. Chymny Crane adds his charm to it with his witty Ga lyrics making the track hard to ignore.
According to him, unlike most musicians who rap for the sake of it, he chooses his words carefully. To him, one thing that makes him stand out is how he delivers on any track, “I make my words so clear that those who my fans can understand clearly what I am saying”.
Styles Major is currently working on a new EP called D.O.P.E (Defining Ones Passion Entirely) and he promises to come back with more classics.
