Kwadwo Sheldon, Lisa Quama, Big Ghun and Highest Eri were among the content creators who took over shows on JoyNews, Joy FM, Hitz FM and Joy Prime on Friday, 30 October, as the Multimedia Group partnered with Influencer Africa, MyJoyOnline reports.
The company says the collaboration is meant to strengthen the relationship between mainstream media and Ghana’s growing content creation industry, while giving influencers the chance to reach wider audiences. JoyNews announced the partnership in a post on X.
Dancer Lisa Quama and film director and musician Big Ghun, chief executive of PB Studios Africa, co-hosted JoyNews’ AM Show. Scanty, known for his work with Kwadwo Sheldon’s YouTube empire, appeared on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, while Highest Eri was scheduled to co-host The Pulse on JoyNews.
On Joy FM, creator Sabina Dzifa joined Doreen Andoh on Cosmopolitan Mix, and Ethan Rashad was expected on Drive Time with Lexis Bill.
Hitz FM also took part. Daina Kumbey joined Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz, and Kwadwo Sheldon appeared on The Library with Andy Dosty. DJ Phantom was set to join Cruise Control later in the day.
On Joy Prime, Big Kumz was expected on On a More Serious Note.
The takeover brings some of Ghana’s biggest online names onto traditional radio and TV for a day. Kwadwo Sheldon, real name Bernard Kwadwo Amoafo, has made his name through his YouTube shows and online commentary, while Lisa Quama is a renowned dancer and social media influencer.
Influencer Africa is the creator-focused arm of marketing agency EchoHouse, which runs Creatorthon, an initiative of workshops, panel discussions and brand-pitch sessions for creators, according to DailyGuide Network. Joy Prime’s posts from the day carried the #InfluencerAfrica, #Creatorthon and #InfluencerTakeover hashtags.
MyJoyOnline said the partnership highlights the growing relevance of influencers and digital creators in Ghana’s changing media landscape.
