Music fans around Africa now have the opportunity and authority to decide on their favourite music videos after the launch of Channel O's new virtual interactive music video war show this month. VideoWars is a first-of-its-kind experience where viewers use a synchronised VideoWars Facebook application and mobile site to decide which music video plays next while interacting with other viewers on air as well as online.
At any time, four music videos from around the world will go head to head in an all-out war for television domination, vying for the votes of Channel O viewers to see which one is going to dominate LIVE on their television screens.

2012 male vocalist of the year Mike Kesse Frimpong musically known as Kesse has released his 11 track debut album titled “Ugly Truth” this week. The artiste who 18newspaper caught on the mid morning show with Sammy Forson disclosed that the album took him four years to complete it hence it is quality work produced by him.
Kesse spoke about the album noting: ‘this album was produced by De-Genius selection inside DC and it has only two collaborations with other artiste on it.’
| Ghanaian rapper, Edem has been officially announced as Abdolut Vodka Artist by Pernod-Ricard the second largest worldwide premium spirits company with a portfolio that includes leading iconic brands such as Absolut Vodka, Chivas Regal Scotch Whiskey, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Malibu Rhum, Olmeca Tequila, Martell Cognac and others. The announcement makes Edem the first African to be signed on by Absolut Vodka. The endorsement means that Edem will appear in a series of activation events for Absolut Vodka particular within the Greater Accra Region, while falling on the global presence of the brand to solidify his artistic genius in the African Music Industry as well.
| After discoveing Kwaw Kese, Tinny, Obrafour and more recently Edem,the CEO of the Last Two Records, Hammer, is set to unveil two more highlife artistes unto the hiplife market. Hammer recently revealed on Citi fm, an Accra based radio station that, preparations are far advanced to make known yet another prolific rappers to Ghanaians. The first is Tuba, who raps and sings in Dagbani and a Ga-Adangbe boy who spits in Krobo. Music lovers should keep their fingers crossed and expect nothing but the best.

Cyphers are considered an MC’s greatest lyrical test against others,it is also considered freestyle rap, and has gained a lot of attention recently due to the BET ciphers featuring Ghana and Nigeria.
| After winning the Artiste of the Year at the 2012 Ghana Music Awards, Hiplife artist Sarkodie Obidiponbidi says he will be releasing two albums this year. In an interview with Hitz FM, Sarkodie disclosed that one of the albums is ready for release and the other one is still in the works.
According to him, the first album is a hip-hop album titled Mind Game a collaboration with Jay-So which is basically for his international audience as well as hip-hop lovers in Ghana.
| One of Ghana’s finest female emcees, Tiffany has announced that she is re-branding herself and would now be known as ‘Itz Tiffany’. The rapper who has made some serious breaking and entering into the the Ghanaian music scene with hits like ‘Fake London Boy’, ‘Last One’, ‘Azonto’ and others, promise that the change in name will come with exciting changes in her music and total outlook as an artist. She commented: "Basically, I always say 'Itz Tiffany' in my tracks and now it has become a part of me, when I’m out and about my fans even address me as ‘Itz Tiffany’ so I thought why not make this official!"
| Over the weekend, one of Ghana’s most prolific hiplife groups, Buk Buk thrilled hundreds of ravers at Agenda Bar in London for the much anticipated Azonto Party organized by Akwaaba UK. Aside the energy they mounted the stage with, they managed to get the entire audience jumping throughout to performances of their chain of hit songs. However, the night’s climax was their performance of the track Kolom. The group’s performance of Kolom was greeted with overwhelming joy alongside never-seen Azonto dance movements from sections of the audience. It was a spectacle to watch how the group effortless connected with the crowd to get them going with them all night.
